The Battle Between Good and Evil: A Review of Storm Shot Transformers Robots in Disguise

In the world of animation, it's common for TV series to feature 'bad-guys' who are equally or even more intelligent, strong, or skilled than their heroic counterparts. With this in mind, I'll examine two major flaws in Robots in Disguise (RiD): weak voice acting and underwhelming villains.

Despite being a competitor to popular franchises like Pokémon and Digimon, RiD was made with a younger audience in mind and had to navigate cultural differences. This explains why many of the names from the original series were carried over, as they risked being lost to other companies if not used. For instance, Rodimus Prime was once lost but is now known as Rodimus Major.

To capitalize on the Beast Wars craze, the creators set RiD in an alternate universe, allowing for a fresh take on Autobots, Predacons, and Decepticons. A few years later, the Japanese audience's desire for more Transformers content led to the creation of Car Robots (later renamed Robots in Disguise).

After Beast Wars: Transformers' success in America, it was transferred to Japan, where it was re-dubbed and achieved similar popularity.
